April in review!

Earlier this month, we closed the practices for a week for our first break of 2022. We were a little nervous about this as the Llanishen patients have never experienced the practice being closed for a few days.

The fact is, though, that with us being a team of only two, if we want real breaks from work – we’ve learned over the years that the only way to do it properly is to both go away at the same time and close the practice whilst we do it.

When we got back, all was well and the patients have kept coming so it’s all good!

We both really needed the break as well, the first quarter of 2022 was so busy. We are working a lot more than we have grown used to over the last few years and we both still have families to be taking care of at home – so for us both to get a break was very valuable.

Our next and final holiday of the year is the first week of August (we always have the same week in August so that Clare can celebrate her birthday and I can celebrate my wedding anniversary with our families) and although I’m currently feeling refreshed and not at all tired, I know I’ll be ready for another holiday by then!

The rest of April has been lovely. The weather has been bright and every time I go to the practice in Llanishen, there are new flowers for me to look at! I’ve been spending lots of time between patients in the garden and I can’t help thinking how lucky we are to have lovely gardens there. You can tell that someone has put a lot of love into the gardens over the years and they make me really happy.

Both of the practices have been very busy and I can’t complain at all about how well they’re both doing. I really feel like our hard work is paying off and it’s very exciting!
