Well, Clare has been very busy just recently and we can now add ‘Prof Cert LV’ to the letters after her name as she has recently qualified to conduct Low Vision Assessments on behalf of the Low Vision Service Wales. This is great news for our patients with sight impairments.
The Low Vision Service exists to help people who still have low vision even whilst wearing their spectacle prescription. It allows practitioners the opportunity to demonstrate a variety of low vision aids such as special lights or magnifiers, and if they help, they are then ordered completely free of charge, on a long term loan basis.
We have several patients who meet the criteria for help from the Low Vision Service, so we will be writing to these patients in due course.
