We are very excited to share the news that we have been shortlisted in two categories at the 2022 Optician Awards!
We have been named finalists in the Sustainable Practice Award category due to our continuous efforts to make both of our practices as eco friendly as possible. Over the ten years that we’ve been in business, we have put lots of strategies in place to reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible so being recognised for this work means a lot to us.
Optics is a naturally wasteful sector and we feel that not enough is done at a national level to help and encourage other optical businesses to reduce their impact on the environment. If we were to win this award, it would really help us to get the word out there more and hopefully inspire others to make more eco friendly decisions.
Also, Clare is thrilled to have been named as a finalist in the Optometrist of the Year category, due to her efforts to address the importance of making optometry accessible to all. In particular, Clare has worked extensively to make the practices deaf aware and dementia friendly. Again, we feel this is an area where a lot of work needs to be done at a national level to make all practices dementia friendly and deaf aware. We hope that Clare will be an inspiration to others and an example of how making simple, easy changes can make a huge impact on a growing cohort of patients.
The awards ceremony is on November 30th in London and we will let you know how we get on!
